On a cloudy blustery Sunday morning, Back In Black took the field in search of their seventh win of the season against a framiliar opponent in the Outlaws.
After receiving the opening kickoff, the Silver and Black took the ball the length of the field on a 80-yard scoring drive that resulted in a 5 yard TD reception from Dowden to Buck, who broke the goal line plane via extension near the pylon. After further review, the officials and the board president disallowed the touchdown, and the scoring play was ultimately overturned - no points.
The Outlaws moved the ball 30 yards before punting to Back In Black.
The next drive saw Back In Black dominating at the Outlaws second level. Well-timed intermediate routes with several YAC(Yards After Catch) occurrences that provided fantastic results for the Silver and Black.
Dowden drove the offense the length of the field with a grinding, game crunching, 7 minute and 31 second drive. This action culminated with a19 yard TD, delivered by Dowden to Coenen on a nice boundary reception catch and run.
On the next Outlaws series, their second of the game, resulted in a punt and the end of the first half. The score 6 - 0 Back In Black.
In the third quarter Back In Black used intermediate and second level passing strikes, utilizing the boundaries. Several different personnel played a role in contributing to Back in Blacks ball control offense, including receiver Jay Clayton, who reeled in three passes on that initial drive of the third quarter.
With the ball resting on the Outlaws 4-yard line, the Silver and Black had to make a decision. Back In Black decided to send in Lee to hit on a field goal, to make it a two-score game. Lee's attempt was good as he connected on a 17 yard field goal making the score Back In Black 9 Outlaws 0.
The fourth quarter came rather quickly, with the Outlaws last possession starting at their own 15-yard line. The Outlaws drove the ball to the Back In Black 25 with two minutes to play in the contest. Thomas made an unbelievable athletic game-saving tackle on a 45 yard gain by the Outlaws offense.
After a sack, and then a pass defense by Bradley, it brought third down and long for the Outlaws with 1:16 remaining in the contest. A pass went right through an Outlaws receivers hands, and ultimately landed with Chris Cain, who retained ownership of the ball, which cemented the victory for Back In Black.
The Silver and Black informed the officials

they would be kneeling on the ball three times in a row, victory formation, as the Outlaws did not have any remaining timeouts. Final score, Back In Black 9 Outlaws 0. The teams current League record 7 - 1, with three consecutive shutouts against some of the top offenses in the league this season.
Throughout the land, this defense - will not soon be forgotten. A defense that is so dominant in nature, but yet so beautiful to watch in its application which includes equal measures of Thunder and Lightning. A hidden stat in most of our games is one in which Back In Black shines. "Turnovers" - Back In Black is Plus three, accomplishing 3 interceptions in each of the last three games. That is a huge contribution towards victory. Don't forget you glory boy DB's out there collecting those interceptions - that's the result of hard work, real men upfront pressing the issue, which makes them QB boys throw that stuff up there, cuz they're bailing from the onslaught, that they know is about to occur.
Back In Black is looking forward to next week's final regular season game against the Renegades, always a tough team.
